snowboard delamination repair?
the nose and tail of my old snowboard are totaly delaminated, the p-tex is in the air. i tried whit normal epoxy resins but i did nothing. i am very attached to this board, and i use to give it to friends who like to try to snowboard 4 the first time. Any ideas about what to do. i think that the problem come out because of high temperature during waxing
Sounds like a base delamination and I’m afraid there is nothing you can do about it. Base delam’s (the ptex peeling away from the base) usually happen when water gets in between the core and the base material and happens most on extruded (cheaper) boards. And your guess about the waxing is actually wrong. In fact this happens a lot to people who wax their boards very little. The wax seals the pores in your base and prevents water from being soaked in towards the core. Without the wax the water gets in easier and damages the board.
Looks like you need a new board. Hang that one on the wall and remember the good ole days of that ride, then find a new board to make new memories with
