Is it ok to ski without poles?
When i ski, i never use my poles and now i see all these people that say we look retarded, how come?? If i can ski better without them why not?
Yes, you can ski without them. However, I’m guessing that the reason people are saying you look “retarded” is because nobody has ever taught you how to use them properly. Get yourself a lesson or two and ask your instructor to work with you on proper pole technique.
I can tell you this: when used properly, your ski poles are one of the most important pieces of equipment you have. They provide timing, coordination and balance on the hill. Not to mention you can use them to smack your buddies in the back of the legs when you ski up behind them.
