Can I stretch snowboard soft boots ?
I have very wide feet. My feet are 25 cm long and 10 cm wide at the widest part. Usually I have to buy 28 cm boots because that’s my width fitting and if I go any smaller my feet are being crushed. Unfortunately that means the boots are much too long and its hard to avoid heal lift.Stretching the width of a snowboard boot is one of the hardest things in the world to do. You really have to find a boot fitter that is dedicated to boot fitting and understands how to do it. I’ve done it twice in 7 years of being a professional boot fitter and honestly I pretty much refuse to do it again.
What people usually do with hard boots is buy smaller boots and have the shell stretched to accommodate wide feet. I wonder if its possible with soft boots.
I am talking mondo cm sizes here in case you are confused.
What you actually need is a wide fitting boot with an intuition liner. You can have the liner heat molded and this will give you more room in the forefoot.
Boots I’d consider looking at are 32′s (although they blow apart easily) the K2 T1, T1 DB, and Darko, Celsius boots, Burton Ozones, Salomon Dialogue Wide, DC Park boot, DC balance. You realistically just need to go to a shop and talk to someone that understands boot fitting and snowboard boots. Unless you’re a quadruple E width boot you shouldn’t have a problem finding something that fits.
